Cala San Vincente Holidays

If you're tempted by a taste of authentic Spain, spend your next holidays in Cala San Vicente on magical Majorca.

One of the smallest resorts on the island, it bears no resemblance to resorts like party hard Magaluf or modern Sa Coma. It's still a fishing port, with a few concessions for tourists. You'll even share the beach with the fishermen, their boats and nets.

This pretty town is located on the breathtaking northern coast, between the town of Pollensa and its harbour. The warm, aqua sea gently laps towering cliffs and fine sandy coves on this edge of the island. The commanding peninsula of Formentor keeps an eye on the three beaches that comprise the resort, making an impressive backdrop.

The beaches of Cala Molins, Cala Clara and Cala Barques all have fine sands and are great for bathing. Cala Barques is the town's main beach with a few small restaurants, bars and shops. You'll find numerous sunbeds and even pedaloes for hire here.

A pleasant evening meal and a couple of quiet drinks is as fast-paced as the nightlife gets. And you may need to venture into Pollensa for some souvenirs of local pottery and ceramics. It's well worth a visit with its quaint narrow streets, stone houses and arty cafes. There are excellent walks and the nearby prehistoric caves are fascinating.
